Looking to volunteer with us?
Thank you for being interested in becoming a volunteer for Samaritans in Eastbourne!
Find out more about volunteering and consider registering for an information evening
If this has sparked your interest and you would like to find out more about our Branch you can come along to one of our information evenings where you will meet some of our volunteers who are responsible for specific roles within the Branch. You will also learn more about what it’s like to be a listener and the journey required to get there.
All our information evenings are on Mondays at 7pm at The Haven, 13 Bolton Road, Eastbourne BN21 3JT so please apply online by clicking on the 'Find out more...' links below, or just by turning up on one of the below dates:
- 28th April, 2025 — Find out more...
- 7th July, 2025 — Find out more...
- 22nd September, 2025 — Find out more...
- 3rd November, 2025 — Find out more...
Please Note: Disabled access is available to our Samaritans Centre.
Don’t worry if you’ve never done anything like this before. We will support you all the way, including training and mentoring until you feel confident and ready to take on the role.
Being a listening Samaritan is no small thing and it does require commitment, which generally means four hours a week in shifts lasting 2-4 hours. Because the well-being of our volunteers is all important we are flexible and can accommodate occasions when your private life takes priority and you need time out.
If you decide that being a listener is not for you there are still opportunities to help in the Branch as a Support Volunteer.
