Looking to volunteer with us?
Thank you for being interested in becoming a volunteer for Samaritans in Eastbourne!
To find out more information about volunteering, click here, where you will also find a simple route to register online.
If this has sparked your interest and you would like to find out more about our Branch we suggest you come along to one of our information evenings.
At our information evenings you will meet some of our volunteers who are responsible for specific roles within the Branch. We will also explain more about what it’s like to be a listener and the journey required to get there.
All our information evenings are on Mondays at 7pm at The Haven, 13 Bolton Road, Eastbourne BN21 3JT and the 2025 dates are:
- 6th January, 2025
- 3rd March, 2025
- 21st April, 2025
- 7th July, 2025
- 22nd September, 2025
- 3rd November, 2025
Please Note: Disabled access is available to our Samaritans Centre.
Don’t worry if you’ve never done anything like this before. We will support you all the way, including training and mentoring until you feel confident and ready to take on the role.
Being a listening Samaritan is no small thing and it does require commitment, which generally means four hours a week in shifts lasting 2-4 hours. Because the well-being of our volunteers is all important we are flexible and can accommodate occasions when your private life gets in the way and you need time out.
If you decide that being a listener is not for you there are still opportunities to help in the Branch as a Support Volunteer.
