CHERRY DANCE MUSICALS AT HIPPODROME THEATRE, 19TH OCT '24
A big thank you to Helen for organising the collection at the hippodrome on Saturday and to the volunteers who gave up their evening and were able to raise £267.92 from the bucket collection.
SARAH MILLICAN EVENT @BRIGHTON DOME 16TH OCTOBER 2024
Thank you so much to you all who came out to support the bucket collection at Sarah Millican event in Brighton.
A total amount of £1,476.83 was donated by the generous audience at the event
This has only been possible due to the amazing volunteers for giving up their evening to join us on a wet Wednesday night.
Events like these cannot happen without your love and support for Eastbourne & District Samaritans, so thanks again for your commitment & dedication. Not only are you listening volunteers but ones with such passion too!
ASDA AWARENESS DAY 27TH SEPT 2024
This was an opportunity to promote SAMARITANS and attract new volunteers to bring in additional support.
A sum of £133.70 was donated by ASDA customers which was an added bonus as the main aim was to raise awareness.
999 Event - Emergency Services Display 1 - 2 JUNE 2024
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you who visited our stall and joined in on the fun with our 'Find the Key' game during the 999 event! Your enthusiasm and participation made the event truly memorable for us.
We raised over £223 over the weekend.
We hope you had as much fun playing the game as we did hosting it.
Thanks to all the volunteers for your support and for making the event a great success. We look forward to seeing you at our future events!
EASTBOURNE SUNSHINE CARNIVAL SATURDAY 25TH MAY 2024
The sun ☀️😎🌞came out to play on Saturday. The Carnival was more than just a parade, it was a celebration of creativity, community and compassion.
The stunning costumes, the involvement of the Samaritans volunteers, and the infectious joy of the attendees combined to create a truly magical event.
Thanks to Caroline for the costumes and Dennis for the stunning pictures.
The highlights of the carnival was the incredible contribution of the Samaritans volunteers, their bright smiles and warm gestures embodied the true spirit of the carnival.
CELEBRATING RALPH'S 90TH BIRTHDAY
Celebrating Ralph's 90th Birthday in the Branch in May 2024.
Ralph has been a listening volunteer at Eastbourne Samaritans for 53 years.
He was awarded a Platinum Champion award for outstanding contribution to volunteering during Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
DAVID'S LONDON MARATHON COMPLETED
David, Congratulations on completing the 26.2 miles London Marathon in an impressive 4 hours and 3 minutes!
A whooping £6,000 was raised for the Eastbourne & District Samaritans.
Your dedication, perseverance and commitment to such a challenging feat are truly inspiring. Well done 🥇🏅🎇 👏.
VERA'S SPINATHON COMPLETED
Many congratulations to Vera Zeniskova on completing the 100-mile Spinathon in 4.5hrs and raising about £876.28 for the Eastbourne & District Samaritans!
What an incredible achievement and a testament to your dedication and endurance. Well done Vera and thanks to all those who supported and donated to this worthy cause. 🚲🎆✨👏.
Well it is that time again when our Branch is the Duty Charity on 25th & 26th April 2024.
Well done to the Bluebell Team!
We raised a huge sum of £5100+. This is an amazing effort considering the poor weather.
What a great team effort and a special thanks to John McCutchan MBE for organising the event.
A circular walk of 1100 metres or 2/3 a mile in Beatons Wood has been made suitable for wheelchair users. This is where you see white anemones followed by the vistas of bluebells, established over centuries. On this walk there are seats for you to enjoy the peace and tranquility of this oak and hornbeam ancient wood. Along the walks there are signs illustrating the flora and fauna of the countryside for your information.
Eastbourne Choral Society Concert Saturday 23rd March 2024 at 7pm
Eastbourne Choral Society chose us as their charity of the year.
The concert left the audience spellbound which is a testament to the enduring power of music to touch the soul.
We collected an amazing sum of £332.46 at the Messiah Concert.
Thank you so much for the donations and special thanks to the Eastbourne Samaritans Volunteers and the Branch Director, that helped out on the day.
Small Talk Saves Lives, Postponed
This event was postponed, new date to be confirmed!
Since launching in 2017, Small Talk Saves Lives has successfully raised awareness within railway stations and other public settings about the need to trust your instincts and start a simple conversation, if you think someone might need help.
