T C Harrison cyclists complete epic bike ride to raise money for Samaritans charity
Members of T C Harrison Group embarked on an ambitious bike ride they call ‘Tour de TCH’ involving cycling around all of their TC Harrison dealerships and offices in aid of Samaritans.
The epic journey saw the team cover over 280 miles across ten dealerships and offices in three days with colleagues from different branches joining in along the route. The course started from the TCH JCB office in Chapeltown on 5th August and finished at the final destination in Derby on the 7th August.
The team have so far raised over £3,300 for the Samaritans. Branch Director of Samaritans Derby and District Aileen Hammersley was at the finish line to greet the riders says, “It’s been wonderful to congratulate the riders on their huge achievement and to thank them personally for all they have done for the charity. The funds will make a big difference to the charity and allow us to continue to be there for those in need of our services.”
Samaritans answer more than 5 million calls for help via a 24-hour listening service, email, SMS, letter and face-to-face services. It cost £100 a day to run the Derby branch and maintain its services which also include the work they do in local schools, prisons, workplaces, and organisations like Network Rail.
T C Harrison will hold a presentation at their Pride Park site later this month to celebrate the team’s achievements and formally present the sponsorship money to Samaritans. If you would like to donate please visit here
