We were delighted to accept an invitation from Coventry University to promote the work of Samaritans and the importance of talking and listening.
The Hub is the centre of student life at the university and our volunteers spent a few hours there today chatting to the students, their families, and university staff about the service we provide and how to access it.
Studying and teaching at university can sometimes be an emotional time so we talked to students and staff about the Samaritans SHUSH campaign and how to recognise and support someone who might be struggling.
Happily, it was graduation day for some students, and we took the opportunity to chat about hopes and future plans. We even had several students asking how to become a Samaritans volunteer!
