Samaritans volunteers come from all sorts of backgrounds, all walks of life and have all kinds of interests
.
In Coventry, we have our fair share of runners and we are no strangers to marathons, half marathons, fun runs and walks. But this year three of our volunteers, Ash, Elisse and Jane, decided to do something different and took part in the “Man versus Horse” event, a 22-mile multi terrain race in mid Wales.
It was challenging, rewarding and muddy.
Being a Samaritan is challenging and rewarding too and we are looking for more volunteers now.
You don’t have to be super fit and it’s fine if racing horses up hill is not your idea of fun. What matters is that you want to help people who are going through difficult times in their lives.
