We were delighted to receive a lovely tea and biscuit bouquet as a ‘Thank You’ for our contribution to a Charity Fundraising event, ‘The Longest Night’.
Organisations across the UK lit up their buildings, in green, all night on 21st December in order to show their support for Samaritans.
Our lines are always busy during the early hours of the morning but, no matter how long the night, Samaritans are always there. It is often during these hours that our callers are at their lowest ebb and most in need of our support.
It has been said that our branch runs on tea and biscuits and we are currently displaying the bouquet in our kitchen for our volunteers to admire. We will eventually have a random raffle and donate it to one of our lovely volunteers who did an overnight in December.
If you’re considering becoming a volunteer in Coventry we always have a nice selection of teas. Don’t worry if you’re not a tea drinker because we provide a range of coffees and other beverages too. Furthermore, there’s always plenty of biscuits, including chocolate ones!
