Time to change
The national Time to Talk day was 7th February 2019, where Chester Samaritans volunteers were available for a talking table in our inspiring Chester cultural centre Storyhouse, organised by the local council (CWAC). And during our participation in Storyhouse's Festival of Languages in January, we were reminded that it is essential that everyone should phrase their words and tone carefully, especially about suicide.
A few days later we were in the calm space of our beautiful Chester Cathedral, talking about our unique service .
Then on 13th February we joined lots of other groups for Wrexham's Wellbeing Day, sharing information on helping people improve their mental health and wellbeing. This was our first visit to the fabulous community hub Ty Pawb (formerly the indoor market), the whole event was run by Wrexham Council in partnership with the DWP. We believe it’s essential to talk, and so we did - many people dropped by for information about us, because even Small Talk can save a life.
