Chester and District Samaritans Schools outreach
Chester and District Samaritans volunteers are available to visit schools and youth groups across South Wirral, North Cheshire and North Wales to give talks and training to students and staff in schools and colleges.
Our talks are aimed at students from year 9 and upwards and there are a number of pre-prepared talks, lessons and workshops covering subjects across emotional health, the value of listening, coping strategies or about Samaritans and the importance of accessing support and where it can be found.
Our talks can be adapted to meet the needs of the school, college or youth group and can take the form of an information-giving talk to a large group, or interactive activities and can be delivered to smaller groups.
If you work with young people, you may also be interested in Samaritans' DEAL resources, a set of free web-based resources with lesson plans, audio visual resources and staff training materials which can be accessed on Samaritans' website. These resources can either be used for staff training internally, or with the support of Samaritans volunteers at your location if desired.
