Fundraising in Alexander's Live
In 2017 on Easter Sunday Tony Chester ran a fabulous musical event in Alexander's Live to celebrate 4 years of the ironically named Twitter account (@ShitChester) he and friends had set up. It was intended to be a Chester online community forum with random quirky photographs to sing the praises of the 'largely unseen magic on our streets'. The musical event was so popular that bands and local businesses flocked to donate their time for free with lots and lots of raffle prizes.
Our report of that event is no longer available unfortunately but a flavour of it is captured in this Chester Blog article (approximately 2/3 in).
Back to the present and after a brilliant quiz night and another excellent raffle over £300 was raised – thank you for all your hard work Tony and @GavinMatthews2! Thanks also to our Sam volunteers Sean and Sally (it’s her photo in Alexanders above) for going the extra mile to promote the cause and maybe recruit new volunteers too!
We were also the recipient of this wonderful fundraising 'Chester in Lego' display created by Tony, showcased in Chester's award winning indoor Market for 3 years
