Connect With Nature
If the past year has given us anything it’s a sense of slowing down and reconnecting with Nature.
We have trodden every inch of our local parks, country walks, canal footpaths; usually passing by the same people who were enjoying their hour long exercise.
Can you remember how all that made you feel? The sense of being in the outdoor, with possibly nowhere else to be, and not much else planned. But it was there for us...free and open...and always in it’s full glory.
And we walked and walked and walked, the same paths, the same people, the same smiles...and as the year passed we noticed the gradual change in the colour of the landscape - the ploughed field, the green haze of sprouting crops, the yellow of the cornfields, and the harvest.
This brought to us a new dimension and understanding of the beauty that lay in the change all around us. The change that cycles around year after year and we barely notice it.
But this last year we got to live it, to feel it, to breathe it. And it felt good.
Let‘s move forward with this for ourselves and each other. Let’s notice the little things that we often don’t see or take for granted. Let’s enjoy the gifts in each of these beautiful moments.
Don’t stop now...keep going with Nature and keep the benefits to your Mental Health.
10th May - 16th May is Mental Health Awareness Week.
Use this time to reconnect (again) with Nature and notice the things that keep you smiling.
