For services to railways and community in Cheshire
We were so proud to hear that Samaritans volunteer Sally had been awarded an MBE for services to railways, community and volunteering. She went to Windsor Castle with her family to receive the award and afterwards said -
"I have been completely stunned but delighted to be awarded an MBE for services to the railway and community in Cheshire. The award ceremony was made even more special because it was the Queen! She asked me several questions about rail and volunteering but I can't remember what either she or I said!! I look forward to continuing to volunteer and trying to make a difference.
Sally is a stalwart of Chester branch, having previously been our Outreach Director, always passionate about getting our message out into all areas of the local community.
