Chester and District Samaritans are proud to be a part of Chester's annual pride event.
Chester Pride is a community and volunteer led charity that advocates for equal rights for the LGBTQ+ community. They provide resources to support the mental and physical health of their members and host fundraisers and an annual Pride event to raise awareness and advocate for equal rights.
The annual Pride event in Chester attracts tens of thousands of people from Chester and the wider north west to show their support for the LGBTQ+ community. Their other events, social groups, helpline and sexual health project ensures that they're there for the community all year round.
Chester and District Samaritans are proud to take part in this annual event to support the work of Pride. Samaritans volunteers join the parade through Chester's historic city centre, handing out Samaritans rainbow flags and gifts to the thousands that line the streets and generally joining in the party atmosphere of the day. Volunteers also man a table in the wellbeing tent in the Pride camp, handing out information, pens and souvenirs to visitors and being available for anyone who may be gong through a bad time and need to talk.
