Taking the Samaritans message to new students
As the 2024 academic year begins and new students arrive at Colleges and Universities across the region, Outreach volunteers from Chester and District Samaritans will be in attendance at a number of freshers fairs; speaking to new students who may not have heard of Samaritans and explaining who we are and the service we offer.
Starting a new College or University can be a very stressful and challenging time for young people and letting them know that Samaritans are there if they find things hard is an important message for us to deliver.
Our first visits took place at Cheshire College South and West in Ellesmere Port on 16th September, and Chester University on the 17th with a further visit to Wrexham University planned for 26th September.
