We’re thrilled to share that one of our newest and youngest trainees, Charlie, is taking on the Manchester Marathon on Sunday, 27 April – all in support of Samaritans.
Charlie originally planned to run the half marathon, but when he discovered it was full, he made the bold decision to sign up for the full 26.2 miles instead!
Despite knee pain, exhaustion, and the ever-dreaded chafing, Charlie is determined to cross the finish line to raise funds for Samaritans. Why? Because he knows first-hand how vital their support is for those struggling to cope.
In Charlie’s words:
“Some people run for fitness. Some run for fun. Others love pushing their limits. I, however, am running the Manchester Marathon because I am a fool. A buffoon. A clown in ill-fitting trainers. But if my suffering can raise money for a cause as important as Samaritans, then it’s worth it.”
Charlie has set a fundraising goal of £1,000, which could help answer calls from those who desperately need someone to listen.
Let’s rally behind him and show our support!
If you’d like to donate and help Charlie reach his goal, you can sponsor him here: Charlie’s Fundraiser.
Best of luck, Charlie – we’re all cheering you on!
