During 2023/24:

  • 23,000 people volunteered their time for Samaritans.
  • Every 10 seconds, Samaritans answered a call for help.
  • More than 3.3 million calls for help were answered by Samaritans volunteers.
  • Almost 1,500 people in prison volunteered as prison Listeners.

And we're really proud to be part of the hugely respected national charity Samaritans, who drive our campaigns; such as ' Real People, Real Stories'.

Meanwhile, do consider using easyfundraising every time you shop online to generate funds to help run our branch - at no cost at all to you! If you prefer, please use the 'Donate to this branch' link below.

Could you be a listening volunteer to support people when they most need it? Or help us as a fundraising Friend to raise the £85 a day it costs to keep our branch running (some of this comes from kind donations), contribute to the costs of our freecall number and publicise our community activities? Please go to the 'Volunteer at this branch' link below.

Our Outreach Director ([email protected]) would love to hear from you if you would like to -

  • organise an individual or group fundraising event for us
  • arrange a talk about what we do
  • offer us a table or pitch to promote our service at your event

Our Schools outreach team([email protected]) would also love to hear from education professionals and youth group leaders who would like to arrange a talk aimed at young people from school age year 9 and upwards on the importance of emotional health and well being. You can find out more here.
