During March 2022, several volunteers from Cheltenham and District Samaritans took on the 310,000 steps in March challenge, to fundraise, and to raise awareness of Samaritans.
Several of our volunteers took on the challenge of walking 310,000 steps during the month of March. This was an opportunity to raise funds, as well as raising awareness of Samaritans while building up their steps.
During the month, the volunteers met up for several group walks. These included a walk from the centre to Cheltenham Spa train station, where the walkers met up with other volunteers during one of their outreach visits to the station.
The walkers also headed out beyond Cheltenham to visit other areas of the District, including Cirencester, Tewkesbury and Stow-on-the-Wold. It was a wonderful opportunity to spend some time today outside and for volunteers to meet up with others who they might not usually see in the branch.
