This weekend, Cheltenham Samaritans volunteers joined the marshals at Cheltenham Parkrun to spread the message that we Believe in Tomorrow.
With Samaritans being the 2024 Charity of the Year for the TCS London Marathon, Cheltenham and District Samaritans volunteers joined the marshals at Parkrun at Pittville Park yesterday. Samaritans are spreading a message of hope, that together we can save lives, and we shared that message with the runners at Cheltenham Parkrun this weekend.
Our director shared the message of the importance of checking in with friends and colleagues when talking to the runners at the start line.
Our volunteers joined regular Parkrun volunteers around the course, to cheer on the hundreds of participants. Runners, walkers, a wheelchair racer, dogs and babies in buggies all took part, and were cheered on by our volunteers on this beautiful sunny morning. We even had a four-legged volunteer joining the support party.
We are very grateful to the Cheltenham Parkrun team for allowing us to join their volunteers to share our message this weekend.
