When you fundraise for Samaritans you help us be there for those who need us most.
Our volunteer Caitlin is running the Brighton Marathon for our branch. For more details on Caitlin's fundraising click here.
I've been supporting Samaritans for the last three years and am still awed by the organisation and the service it offers. Staffed almost entirely by volunteers, Samaritans ensures there's always someone there, to listen and really hear you. They answer over 5 million calls for help every year. But offering a 24/7 service is expensive and individual donations are Samaritans biggest source of funding. I therefore wanted to take on a new challenge to help Samaritans raise those all important funds, so they can maintain and expand this amazing service.

Our supporter Georgina is taking on the Wing Walking Challenge on the 24th July in occasion of Big Listen. For more details on Georgina's fundraising click here.
I have been a Special Constable for the British Transport Police for over 3 years and have worked in the rail industry for over 7 years. Throughout both my careers, mental health has become a topic that is very close to my heart. I have witnessed first-hand the effects of someone suffering with their mental health and dealt with attempted suicides and fatalities. All of which impact loved ones, railway staff and officers (to name a few). The reason I am completing this wing walk is to raise money and awareness for the Samaritans charity. They really do make a difference and need funding to continue their amazing work.

Our volunteer Trudie took on the Thames Bridges Trek and raised an outstanding amount of £1,495.00
I did the Thames Bridges Trek (25k) for Central London Samaritans because their work is vitally important, especially now. I have been a Samaritans volunteer for nearly two years now. I trained at the Central London branch and since then it has become increasingly obvious to me the vital role Samaritans play in so many people's lives - not just those who are suicidal but those who have reached a crisis point and need emotional support to help them through.
