The Friends of Central London Samaritans in association with Art History Abroad invite you to a virtual event with Mark Haddon, Novelist and Samaritan, in conversation with Simon O’Hagan.
Mark Haddon is the author of four novels, including the global phenomenon The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, and his latest, published in 2019, The Porpoise. His short story collection, The Pier Falls, was published in 2016. He has written poetry, radio plays, TV drama and 15 books for children. In 2003 Curious Incident won the Whitbread Book of the Year Award, among many other awards. A stage adaptation followed, written by Simon Stephens, which won seven Olivier awards and six Tony Awards on Broadway. Mark is also a Samaritans listening volunteer.
Simon O’Hagan is a former arts editor of The Independent on Sunday, and a former editor of The Independent’s Saturday magazine. He was the founder of the original Queen’s Park Book Festival in north-west London. For the past four years he has worked on the radio section of Radio Times magazine, as an editor and writer.
