Self Harm Awareness Day takes place every year on the 1st March to help challenge the stigma of self harm.
At Samaritans, the focus for Self Harm Awareness Day 2021 is supporting people online who might be at risk of suicide and self-harm. If you’re worried about someone because of the way they’re acting or the things that they’re posting online, you can:
- Offer them support if you feel comfortable
- Tell someone you trust
- Report it on the platform they’re using so the platform can offer support
