Bury Samaritans branch director Chris Mills joined David Matthews in the Rochdale to Bury leg of David's epic 6000 mile 'Listening Walk' to all UK and Ireland Samaritans branches.
David Matthews set out on the first leg of his 'Listening Walk' from Doncaster Samaritans on April 14th, 2019, with the intention to visit every single Samaritans branch in the UK and Ireland over the course of 2 years. On the 22 October, David was joined by Bury Samaritans branch director, Chris Mills, on the Rochdale to Bury leg of the Listening Walk that stretched 6.5 miles from Rochdale Town Hall and ended at the Bury Samaritans branch on Knowsley Street. To celebrate, we were joined at the branch by the Mayor of Bury, Trevor Holt, and his wife Evelyn, the Mayoress. On Wednesday 23 October the Listening Walk will continue to Bolton where Bury branch volunteer Darran Latham will help David to pass over the baton to the Bolton Samaritans.
