The Lions Barber Collective charity is returning to Manchester in person to offer face to face free training on Sunday 23 October from 12:30 - 17:00.
BarberTalk workshops teach barbers/hair professionals the skills to recognise the signs that someone may be struggling with their mental health and how to help clients find the support they need.
Men spend more time with their barber than their GP. It is the unique, trusted barber-client relationship that we want to develop.
It’s not about making barbers/hair professionals into counsellors, but bridging the gap between the communities they serve and the resources that are available. It’s about providing a safe non-judgmental safe space for men to open up.
On completion of the training, attendees will be added to The Lions Barber Collective ‘Locate a Lion’ map and join their discussion forum.
The Manchester training session will take place on Sunday 23 October at Piccadilly Train Station from 12:30 - 17:00. You can register for free at eventbrite
