Volunteers at Brierley Hill Samaritans have chosen to collect donations for Black Country Foodbank to support people in our community this Christmas rather than send cards to each other.
Kind-hearted volunteers from Brierley Hill Samaritans have donated food and essential supplies to a local food bank supporting families in need over the festive period rather than send each other greeting cards.
The photo only shows a small percentage of what we've donated and includes cereal, canned food, milk, hot chocolate, tea, coffee and toiletries to the Black Country Foodbank as part of their annual festive appeal.
The Black Country Foodbank helps vulnerable individuals and families in crisis through the provision of an emergency food and toiletry parcels, whilst a longer-term solution is developed.
More people than ever before are turning to food banks for support and alongside the emotional support Brierley Hill Samaritan provides, we want to support the Foodbank to ensurer that families in need have food and essential items over the cold, Christmas period.
Black Country Foodbank commented: “We are so grateful for this donation from Brierley Hill Samaritans. This could not have come at a better time, as we are experiencing an unprecedented level of demand for emergency food and toiletry parcels. This donation will allow us to continue providing support to everyone who needs food and essential items during these difficult times.”
