McDermott Building and Civil Engineering Limited have donated an incredible £8,500 to Brierley Hill Samaritans over the last 18 months.
Malcom McDermott, Managing Director of McDermott Building and Civil Engineering Limited visited the Brierley Hill Branch to handover a 'cheque' representing the £8,500 the company has donated to us over the last 18 months.
Malcolm’s visit gave us an opportunity to show him the Branch and explain how we operate. He commented on our professionalism, recognising and valuing the support we provide to people needing emotional support whilst also caring and developing the skills of our volunteers. The donation will contribute to enabling Brierley Hill Samaritans to continue delivering our service.
There are multiple factors that can increase someone’s risk of suicide, and these can overlap and intersect. According to data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), workers in construction are now nearly four times more likely to die by suicide than in any other sector.
