Late September saw us gather in our sitting rooms, studies, bedrooms and sheds to celebrate the achievements of the branch and say thank you to our volunteers and supporters.
Sadly for the second year running we were unable to hold our ABM in person but still managed to have an enjoyable evening, looking back to what had been achieved over the past year and ahead to our plans for the future. We were especially fortunate to have Keith Leslie, Chair of Samaritans, join us as our guest speaker and he updated us on ongoing work with outside agencies including the government, NHS, prison service, businesses and other charities and organisations. Keith also spoke about developments around the work we do as an organisation to enhance the support we provide to our callers and each other.
The evening ended with long service awards being given to three of our volunteers - Angey, Peter and Rosemary, who between them have clocked up an incredible sixty five years of listening.Thank you to them and all of those who in various ways ensure that we can continue being there for people struggling to cope.
