Back on 24th August, Tim, one of our Banbury & District Samaritans volunteers, gave an interview to Puritans Radio - a local community station.
Puritans Radio invited us to talk about what Samaritans do nationally and locally, plus what it's like to be a Samaritans listening volunteer. Tim gave a moving account of why and how Samaritans was initially founded, how it has grown and evolved over the years and the numbers of people now involved with providing our service.
He spoke about the many reasons why people volunteer, including his own personal story and the diverse range of people he has met since joining Banbury & District Branch. He was effusive in his praise for the training all volunteers receive, the support from co-volunteers and shift leaders, and new friendships that have been made.
