Former Banbury & District Samaritans volunteer, Celia Chandler, has just completed yet another epic challenge to raise funds for the branch.
Celia, super human (in every sense) wasn't content with having previously undertaken an Arctic husky mush in aid of the branch, she has now just completed the arduous climb to Everest base camp. She spent 10 months training for the expedition before setting off as part of a team of climbers plus 2 doctors, 6 sherpas, 2 yak drivers and a leader she de
scribed as "one of the best in the region". The ascent to 17,600 ft took 12 days and involved one of the scariest looking flight landings on the planet just to get to Kathmandu. Now safely back home again Celia is resting up re-united with her family and furry friends.
Thank you so much Celia for all that you do for us.
