On Sunday 9th July we were back in Peoples Park for the Banbury Town Mayor's Funday.
After a damp start the sun came out along with the crowds and our volunteers. Back by popular demand (!) was the guess the crushed car competition - the clue's in the name. Smiths of Bloxham once again did us proud by this time selecting a Citroen C3 which led to much debate amongst all those trying to identify the bits of squashed metal. The lucky winner was 15 year old Tom who will be putting his winnings towards his holiday.
We were also visited by the new Banbury Town Mayor, Councillor Fiaz Ahmed who was very interested in the work that we do.
As always it's the public who make these events so enjoyable and we love meeting everyone. We also received a substantial amount in donations which will help keep Banbury & District Samaritans branch running - thank you.
