Samaritans are available day and night (24/7) everyday of the year. To celebrate and to make the point volunteers walked the walls of Berwick ramparts over night on 24/7.
While the phones continued to be answered by others, a group of volunteers from 3 branches, Berwick, Ashington and Selkirk along with friends and dogs enjoyed the changing views and peaceful experience of Berwick Ramparts.
Councillor Catherine Seymour kindly joined us on the iconic walk which is steeped in history. The steady pace allowed plenty of chat and enjoying its novelty.
With the new branch having opened in Berwick there is also an opportunity for local people to volunteer. (The ability to walk round ramparts is not essential).
