East Coast Samaritans Longest Night - 21/12/21
To mark the shortest day - and the Longest Night - of the year Landmarks across Ireland and Northern Ireland have been illuminated in green for the winter solstice to raise awareness of support available for those experiencing dark times over the Christmas period. East Coast Samaritans Branch in Arklow put out a call to Arklow Municipal Council to light up green for the longest night and they kindly turned the 19 Arches Bridge and St Marys Park bandstand green for the occasion. East Coast Samaritans also reached out to St Mary and Peters parish Church and they kindly turned the belfry green for the occasion. Meanwhile, Hilda's Coffee House turned the window green and continually offer customers pens, wristbands and cards helping to create awareness of the work we do.
