Samaritans recently participated in the vibrant boot sale hosted by SS Peter and Michael Junior School, bringing their message of support and hope to the local community.
East Coast Samaritans outreach team where out and about in Arklow on the 12th of April 2025 doing what they do best. They were raising awareness of the Samaritans mission and their role in helping people through stressful times in their lives. At the stand, East Coast Samaritan volunteers shared information about how Samaritans provide a listening ear to anyone in need, 24/7, through their free helpline and email services. They also raised vital funds for the branch which is always a bonus. Thanks to SS Michael & Peter Junior School for allowing us to have a table at their car boot sale which was also to raise vital funds for the school.
There was great interest in our service and we also sold raffle tickets for a hamper that was generously put together by two of our volunteers. There was also ‘guess the number of jellies’ prize. Spirits were high and the anticipation of who was going to win the sought after prizes was felt all over the school hall.

There were a variety of stalls with people selling their wares to all who attended. A great day was had by all. The branch raised a total of 168.50 euro and thanks are passed on to everyone who kindly bought a raffle ticket. Also in the true spirit of awareness we might have a potential new volunteer who would like to join our ever expanding and caring team of listeners and supporters.
East Coast Samaritans are looking forward to their next outreach and fundraising events that are coming up over the next couple of months. As always the public play a vital role in us getting our message out there and received through their generosity and warm hearts.
