Printable information on internet safety, suicide and self-harm. You can give these to give the people you work with, and parents and carers.
Once you’ve started the conversation, people may want to think about their online activity in their own time. These handouts are something you can give people to take away and consider.
They provide:
- prompts to help people reflect on how their online activity affects them
- information on how to talk about suicide and self-harm safely online
- guides to using safety features and online controls to better manage their experiences online.
We also have a handout for parents and carers. This provides them with an overview of what we know about the potentially harmful and helpful effects of looking at online content around suicide and self-harm. It also provides them with guidance on how they can talk about internet safety with their child, supporting them to have positive experiences online.
We’re evaluating the helpfulness of this guidance and would like to hear from you.
Do you have some time to spare to tell us about your experiences of using these resources? We’re keen to learn if we could do anything better. If so, please express your interest by clicking the link below.
